Mr Testicles visited
ASDA’s main distribution hub in Magna Park at Lutterworth,
on Friday the 3rd of February 2006.
Katie Hateley, a valued volunteer
of our Campaign, helped organise a visit to three of ASDA’s
large warehouses, to raise awareness for male cancer.
It was also a perfect opportunity to promote The Male
Cancer Awareness website and to introduce Mr. Testicles
to the predominantly male workforce.
Mr. Testicles had a great day.
After spending time at ASDA he said: ‘The Lutterworth
warehouses are gigantic. From one huge park food was being
delivered all over the UK. So much hard work goes on behind
the scenes to get a simple thing like a tin of beans on
to a supermarket shelf. The staff were all great sports,
posing for pictures and chatting away. I did think how
funny it would be if I worked there instead of for the
charity - whizzing around in forklifts, sharing banter,
helping to load up trucks, but I don’t think they
would have a hard hat big enough to fit me!’
The Campaign has been invited
back to hold several live awareness sessions for the staff
and we hope ASDA may look at supporting us in the future
as their chosen charity for the year.
A big thank you goes
to everyone who donated money and helped to raise £186.00.
A huge thanks goes to Katie Hateley, who very kindly took
a day off work and volunteered her time, only to come
back to work to support and help Mr. Testicles.
A big thank you also goes to
Kristin French, Nicky Wilkins and Martin Reynolds for
all their help and support.
