The
Male Cancer Awareness Campaign raises awareness through
education. The Campaign raise awareness at schools, colleges,
universities and the workplace using live awareness presentations.
If you are there, we will seek you out and ensure that you
learn about male cancer, its symptoms, effects and how to
deal with diagnosis and treatment.
Events and exhibitions are vital to our Campaign
and key to our charity’s aims. People are
invited to chat to us freely at our live awareness stands.
Here, Information Officers show men and their partners how
to self-examine and how to recognise the early symptoms
of prostate, bowel and testicular cancer.
Erotica is one of the largest adult entertainment shows
in the UK attracting over 80,000 people from many different
parts of the country. It is a perfect venue for raising
male cancer awareness. Last year, the Campaign was given
a free stand in a prime position by the organisers and we
attracted large numbers of visitors over the four days.
The show was extremely busy with hundreds of stalls selling
everything for the adult market including fashion, lingerie,
body art, jewellery, sex toys, books, magazines, DVDs, and
furniture for every taste. This was a prestige-filled, impressive
and stylish event and there were many men there with their
partners – presenting us with a wonderful opportunity
for raising awareness.
We did over eighty live awareness sessions each
day and spoke to hundreds of people about their
worries, answering any questions they had and offering advice.
We received huge support and lots of encouraging comments.
“Well done, It’s about time something was done
for the lads” is a remark we hear a hundred times
a day at events like this, and this is one of the reasons
why the charity was set up – to educate ‘the
lads’ and help all those who need support.
We met over fifty male cancer patients who told
us incredible stories of strength and determination.
They all said they supported what we do and many commented
how glad they were to see something being done.
The support of the Male Cancer Awareness Campaign
at Erotica was truly amazing. We have been invited
back to the event next year and it is now an important booking
in our awareness event calendar. I would like to thank the
organisers and Tracey at Erotica for all their help and
support. A big thanks goes to the Traders who made our time
there special. Also, to all our beautiful, sexy volunteers
who helped us to raise nearly £700 pounds, a big,
big thank you.
Would you like the chance to be invited as VIP
guests to next year’s Erotica event including an invite
to the lavish Erotica Ball? Or the chance to be
a VIP guest at a major Sport, Music or other large event?
If you become a supporter of the Male Cancer Awareness Campaign
and donate regularly by standing order, your name will be
