On July 13th 2007 Blue Spot Engineers will cycle 939km (583 miles) in 6 days over some of the highest peaks in Europe. Their mission is to travel from Venice to Milan via the Alps. The team consists of Russell Evans (35), Clive Gomm (35), Carl Diggens (42), Mark Johnson (42), all from Ford Motor Company, along with Owain Davies (23) and Andy Jup (23) from Caterham Cars.

The highest peak they will encounter is the arduous Passo Della Stelvio, with its 48 hairpins, 12% incline and an elevation of 2757m. The team will not only have to cope with the cycling but also the altitude and sweltering July heat. They will be supported by a Ford Transit camper van which will also be their hotel, restaurant and emergency recovery vehicle.

This heroic lot can't get enough of personal challenges that raise money for good causes and hope that their Italian Job will raise £2500 for our charity.
